Letters from fans:

Loved your Easter B.C. comic!
Thanks for reminding the reader about this day which changed the entire world.
Keep it up.
Pat
Hilton Head Island, South Carolina

You're to be commended for running a strip every Easter that in someway tells people about the resurrection. Thank you. Today it's really needed!
Gerry
Surprise, Arizona

Once again, it was extra special reading/seeing Easter's B.C. reminder that the 'freedom of the press' does not die easily (no pun intended) and yesterday's cartoon quietly - and loudly - decreed that 'He is risen, indeed!'
Thanks... from more than a few of us.

I really enjoyed your Easter strip! That was a very poignant and humorous way to express the pivotal event of resurrection.
Thanks for showing us new ways to see the surprise of that great event. :D

Centralia, ?? (Beverly, let me know! - Patti)

Thank you all for your kind words of praise!
When I took over B.C. in 2007, I made a promise to myself to attempt to continue my grandfather's legacy of an inspirational strip on Easter.
I value and appreciate your feedback.

The April 17th B.C. Sunday strip is a tribute to our Japanese brothers and sisters.
They continue to remain in our daily thoughts and prayers.

Here are a few letters we received.

"Hi, I'm a Japanese and am enjoying B.C. comic strip everyday. I just wanted to show you my deepest thanks for the 17th Sunday comic strip. I was so much touched with the kind intention of B.C.'s and Wolf's. How nice of them to send relief products to us in Japan (the direction of the sun was obviously Japan). Thank you so much! And please send our appreciation and love to them and all the folks in the strip.
Sincerely,
Cherese
Chiba, Japan

You're very welcome, Cherese, and thank you for writing!
Patti

"I'm a long-time fan of B.C. and the Wizard. You've had some kind and thoughtful strips along with all the fun, but the Sunday 4/17/11 B.C. strip tops them all. Gives you a lump in your throat and a bit of hope for the human race."
Diane
Houston, Texas

Thank you, Diane. We're glad you enjoyed it.
Patti

"While the sentiment in the B.C. comic of April 17th was very appropriate... I question the display of the circa 1940's battle flag of the Empire of Japan."
Mickey
Mission, Texas

Hi Mickey,
It was the flag of the Imperial Navy only through 1945 (their war flag featured a centered sun).
Here's the Wikipedia entry.
It is currently (since 1954) the flag of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force.
Sorry for the confusion,
Patti

"I have just read the 4/17 Sunday B.C. strip. This is a first for me, so forgive me for sounding like the old sentimental gal I am... I loved the strip and have cut it out and posted it in my office for all to see.
God bless the Japanese and God bless all of you for your kindness and concern."
Thanks,
Sharon

Thanks, Sharon... I love hearing from another old sentimental gal...
