Mason recently returned from a trip to San Diego with 7 other cartoonists sponsored by the National Cartoonist Society. The group visited with troops at the Naval Hospital, the La Jolla VA Medical Center and aboard the USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6). Mason traveled along with fellow cartoonists, Jeff Keane (Family Circus), Greg Evans (Luann), Chad Carpenter (Tundra), Michael Ramirez (two time Pulitzer Prize winning editorial cartoonist for Investors Business Daily), Bruce Higdon (Army cartoonist, caricaturist), Stephen Silver (Kim Possible, caricaturist) and Jeff Bacon (Broadside/Greenside).
